Default Broken P-Stem

I came home today to this:

My poor Ensete Maurelli

While I have no idea *exactly* what happened, I know who must've been involved: *glares at the darling cat*

Anyways, the p-stem is busted pretty bad, and she can no longer support herself. I considered staking it, but maybe it's better to just cut it back again so she can regrow a strong base?

I feel bad cause I already chopped her down once this winter due to an insane spidermite infestation. Would the corm have the energy to re-grow twice in such a short time span?

Thanks for any advice/experiences/

I hate damage. You should definitely wait for someone to come along who really knows what's up but I'd think the best bet would be to cut it off right where it's broken. That thing will keep pushing or at least I'd think it would.

Last year I had a cat attack a small TC plant and it looked similar to yours. I staked it up because I didn't think it was established enough to withstand being cut back. Staking worked like a charm and it was back to normal in ~10 days.

She's doing great as of today

One new leaf pushed out and opened since, and a another cigar leaf started. The two new leaves pushed out the broken stems. It's almost like nothing ever happened

Watch it close, it could choke at the break. But if new leaves push though then it should be OK.
