Default Bananas on feebay?

HI,
AS I have newly found out if you live in USA you can buy plants off feebay.

My daughter lives in Chandler/Phoenix/Arizona and she would love to either plant a Banana plant or container grow one.

So.....

Any suggestions as to which type would be suitable to grow in that area?

And would it be better in a container or would it be ok in the ground?

cheers

Why would you (or your daughter) wanna buy banana plants on "feebay" if there is the bananas.org forum?
I had a friend from the Phoenix area here last year who went home with a Dwarf Namwah plant. He planted it straight into the ground and it is doing very well.

I'm over in Glendale and have a couple of bananas growing. Check out the "Arizona Rare Fruit Growers Association. I think they meet on the second Thursday of every month. Some of the members sell plants and you should be able to talk directly with local experts and possibly look at their plants and pick what you want. I think you can contact Ruth Ann Showalter at "ruthann.showalter-at-gmail.com".
