Re: Banana industrie
Nice pics. It's cool to see how it's all done. I've driven by some banana plantations in Puerto Rico and Hawaii, but didn't stop. Why the different methods of packing bananas bound for different countries? Is that just the purchasing country's preference?

For the Arabian Gulf are also packed 5 kg boxes, because a family buy it green (without ripening) and they ripe the bananas at home. |

Re: Banana industrie
OK, Chris! I can go for that!
I've been talking to Lorax some recently. Now that I "know" two people down there I'll have to convince my wife that Ecuador would be a great vacation spot! |

Re: Banana industrie
Yes, Ecuador is great. It is a beautiful country. I only know Guayaquil, Machala, Quito, Cuenca. I traveled by bus and car (pick up). The water of the ocean is warm. The climate at the coast is tropical and it the mountains it's cold. I maid many times the trip from Machala 30 °C to Cuenca 15 °C (Sea level to 9.000 feet) by pickup in 3 hours.

Sorry Brent - Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina! But still South America and great for a trip.

Re: Banana industrie
You're right, Cassie...I was. For some reason, something Chris said led me to believe he was from Ecuador as well. I must have misread something.
