2021 Bananas!

So last year was my first full year growing bananas. I started ordering plants in december of 2019, with 6 "blue java" aka namwah TCs from wellspring gardens. That kicked off the addiction, and i added a blue java and raja puri pup from my neighbor up the road Akula. After visiting his plantation, I knew I was hooked! I ordered a pisang keling and viente cohol from Larry, and then in July went through the process of importing an AEAE from Indonesia. Greenie helped me save that plant and get it growing again, and its now in the ground. Next I added a dwarf red from Cincinnana, and he was kind enough to send me a bonus plant in the box.. a Bordelon. Beautiful plants both! Then AaronTT and i traded a Thai black for one of my namwah pups.. and finally this week a praying hands, again from Larry.
This spring has been super exciting, as all of my first gen namwah TCs are flowering, as well as my blue java and RP pups from Akula! I currently have 7 flowers in various stages of bloom. However, all current flowering plants have only 2-4 leaves so ripening those is in question. My second generation namwah pups should all flower in june however, with a full complement of leaves.. Gonna be an exciting year in my yard! Thanks to everyone on the forum who brought me from TC to mini plantation in just over a year!

Thank you! Not as beautiful as where all of your fine specimens grow.. but its shaping up nicely! I walk around my yard looking at my plants constantly.. its an addiction! Thanks for all the help and advice.. and of course the plants!

Congratulations Seth! Great photos and write up.

My RP is in exactly the same situation with four leaves and a flower emerging. Fingers crossed the fruit develops!

Freaking awesome man. I think I get just a bit too much cold up here to ever have a shot at anything close to that. Simply amazing.

And are the Praying Hand plantlets gorgeous or what? So graceful looking already. I can't wait to see how yours turns out because you're dialed in.

Its a great feeling to have all these flowers to check on each day! Just hope these plants can ripen some with just a few leaves!

Wow.. the one i got was so large for a TC! i feel like its put me a few months ahead of the average TC plant! Keep us updated on all your new plants! You are gonna be busy!
