Hello, so i got this Banana tree from Greece, his name is "Jimmy".
On the pot he came in had a tag of Musa Acuminata. Would like to know what kind of banana tree he is? Can i keep him for life in the pot? How can i safely take out the small ones to move them in another pot? ![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you! Last edited by dph : 03-07-2023 at 10:47 AM. |

As your plant grows taller and wider you will need to increase pot size. You may use a sharp knife to remove the small pups from the main plant and replant them. A Youtube search "how to remove banana pups" will give you ideas on how to do it. |

Let them grow some more as they are getting stronger and developing a robust root..then you my carefully remove them and plant them in a pot of your choice. You can do this in another 30+ days. There is a good chance you will get the plant to flower and then make edible fruit in 3-5 years. |
