The smaller one you sent me is the one that has wine staining. The other one (dwarf brazilian) has a little bit but not anymore.

sorry, i don't know what to tell you. neither one of those mats show wine stain at my place. and both mats are 7 years old. might be growing conditions.

as i told you, both mats have fruited for me, the raja puri more times than i can count.

now if i would have sold you other plants that had not fruited i would have told you.

Oh I believe you. Actually I initially planted the the smaller one you sent me (raja puri) and probably watered it too much because it just sat for over a month and struggled. I dug it up, trimmed some roots, soaked in a bleach solution and then sprinkled cinnamon on it (I know lol) and replanted it. It slowly started grow and now it's in full season but it grew from straight corm no pseudostem so I think that's why I see the little bit of wine blotching.

i have a few plants that came from florida hills nursery and well spring gardens.

none of those plants will i sell here on banans.org. even if i can get them identified. i will tell you this, your plants come from 2 very reputable sellers on this site. neither one gets on here anymore, so i will not tell you where they came from.

but what i will say is this, while i got 15 dollars after shipping for both plants, i am not above spending 200 dollars for what i want. and i also have 3 banana plants from going bananas in homestead. wink.

I know what you mean about wellsprings and Florida hill although I prefer wellsprings because I think they are a better outfit and like their customer service better. But yeah they mix stuff all the time. I'm exciting because both the ones you gave me are now growing like crazy in our insane heat and will be large soon. I'm gonna mulch them a bit now to save a bit ok watering and protect their roots. I'd much rather have them in the ground such is life of a renter.
