Alright so I'm almost positive I must stop calling this thing a basjoo.
I got it from my friend Randy. The Flower on my friends mat are sending out very slowly and are not developing edible fruit. In other words: the fruit is very very small (2"-3"ish) and they crumbled up and deteriorated completely in the one month I didn't get to check up on my friends only bloom. (The entire bloom/inflorescence, female+male buds+bracts died and dried up into nothing in 1 month!) WHAT IS THIS THING? From what I gathered, the plants have received adequate fertilizer, light, and maintenance, but his only one he Did separate from his mat has stunted growth and is not doing well in full sun? -----8-26-2013-----Unknown Flower----- -----10-12-2013-Same Plant V-------------------------------------------------------Others in his mat and separate one----- EDIT: V Experimenting with frames VCan someone give me a better clue. . . So many names and synonyms subgroups geneses blah blah I'm gettin tired of looking.... Please y'all just gimme a hint? Very cold hardy, my friend never lost one and has never dug them up for storage. Alright fine I guess I'll keep calling it basjoo but when this thing grows thorns and turns purple, I'll post a pic an tell y'all I told you it wasn't a basjoo.
It just I was expecting this to show some fingers for awhile but none were produced at all! The flower only lasted 1 month and Nothing came from it. I will always be a newbie so just tell me it is normal for this to happen? Probably a sucker a seen flower? |
