I've grown bananas here in Z5 for over 4 years. Killing them every year in pots, in the ground, heavily mulched, wrapped in burlap, stored in a crawl space in oak leaves, in vermiculite, in peat moss. This year I will be killing a red banana of heroic proportions (over 8' tall) and 3 rather more common specimens green garden center types at around a spindly 6'. I look forward to reading all through the forms and learning new ways to underwinter my prize plants.

Bwahahahaha.... I guess it is just me but I was cracking up at your post... not at the plight of your nanners but at the line "This year I will be killing a red banana of heroic proportions"
Hopefully everything works out for you this year... If I can help let me know and if you lose your nanners this winter let me know and I will personally send you some pups off of mine to kill next winter, lol.Regards, James |

good grief! that was great! what ever your doing.....STOP! it should be against the law to kill a nanna! lol. we welcome your sence of humor, just not the killing of innocent bananas. ha ha ha. they were proven innocent, they were aquitted, they didnt deserve the death sentence. his optimisium gives the rest of us new to the tropicals a great amount of courage!
. hope you find some helpful info here, and WELCOME! |
