Welcome to the Banana Bunch. What is a Darjeeling? A town or tea.

My 1st search didn't turn up any thing as a banana. ... But the proper name is Musa sikkimensis. It is very cold hardy and a seeded banana. You can read about it of the forum wiki. Musa Sikkimensis (red tiger, manipur etc) - Bananas Wiki

Thanks a lot! Can't do anything until frost is out of ground. About a month from now. Will give your recommendations a try. Very grateful! If you think of anything else please let me know. This is all totally new to me & I'm sure the neighbors will know I've finally lost it. But, hey, they probably thought that already!

My Basjoo mat is one of the best in St Louis. I tried a Sikamensis seedling a few years age and it did not winter.

Will anyone in Zone 5 or 6 have a pup availlable this spring? Will they fruit in these zones??

Thanks,
George
