Can anyone inform me as to how long it takes the bananas to start forming once the flower starts opening...i have a purple flower, and as each layer opens, the petal and the yellow parts fall off, i'm new to this ,and from what i understand the bananas come from the part of the stem the petal was attached to..If I am wrong please correct me, I'm anxious to find out if it will produce bananas or not

Thanks for your reply... the stalk is covered with the racemes but there are no female flowers coming out of them as in the picture, i took the male portion and rubbed the pollen on the raceme assuming this is how pollination took place, but i have nothing yet, i will try and post a pic...the picture you sent has them formed already and i'm just worried mine isn't goin to produce...i was wondering how quickly the female flowers would emerge, its been a couple of months and there is nothing there
....is it too soon? |
