I just joined this forum and wanted to say hello to everyone.
I live in Lafayette, Louisiana and I grow fig and citrus trees. I was given a semi-dwarf banana tree that died shortly after I brought it home, but two pups came up from the roots and they're still alive. One is larger than the other and I don't know if that's the usual thing, or not, knowing near next to nothing about growing bananas, but I hope to learn and keep these babies alive and well. My zone is 9a and we've lived here in Lafayette, since August 31, 1967. noss |

Hello Noss,
Feels like I know you well. Coming here for your banana questions is the right thing to do. Very knowledgeable people here and friendly. When you make a trip over this way you can see my mats and the dozen or so bunches I have hanging. I can give you some pups too or if you bring a truck I can give you large plants. You'll want to research short cycle bananas. The work Dr. Fonsah has done in Tifton has really advanced the short cycle banana knowledge base. TJ and I have acquired a few of those and hopefully they will produce for me next year and maybe I'll. have some spare pups. If they perform as expected you will want to get them. Hope to see you soon! My offer stands for everyone. Nothing fancy here but plenty of free pups for the digging. Some I even know they name of! LOL

Darkman in Pensacola AS ALWAYS IMHO AND YOUR MILEAGE MAY DIFFER!!!!!!!! Life - Some assembly required, As is no warranty, Batteries not included, Instructions shipped separately and are frequently wrong! Kentucky Bourbon - It may not solve the problem but it helps to make it tolerable! Statistics - Data that analyst twist to support the insane opinions of those that pay them.
