I have very little knowledge about growing bananas, but grew-up on a farm in Oklahoma and currently live in Loma Linda, California and volunteer in a small town in El Salvador. I am trying to help families develop small businesses that will improve their quality of life. I am always thinking about different crops that might be added to the area which could be sold. There are a few banana trees in the little town that a couple of families have for their own use. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate a PM.

Welcome to the Bunch.
They could grow Bananas for local sells at fruit stands or local farmer market. For commercial production would depend on if the 'BIG GUYs' have a buying point near by.
