What is the best fertilizer for banana plants? I'd like to know if it's possible to purchase at a nearby store or nursery as opposed to online ordering. :08:

Nothing better than "Fruit Fuel" 16-8-24 which is the ideal N-P-K ratio for banana plants. It has also all necessary micronutrients.
Come on over and pick some up. Send me a PM for the address or I can possibly meet up with you.

15-15-15 Works as well as anything and is usually the cheapest.

I find cow and horse manure helpful.

Check your area for farm suppliers or fertilizer suppliers. These usually sell to the public (gardeners) in bag guaranty and should have the best price. Then you might check the nurseries and garden centers (higher cost); And, Walmart (cost not bad). These usually have a 'balanced' fertilizer of some type (5-5-5; 8-8-8; 10-10-10; 15-15-15 or 16-16-16). 10-10-10 is the most common while the others are not always available except by special order.
10-10-10 plus a few lbs of potassium supplement is what I use at 10lb/plant plus 1/2 to 3/4 lb of potassium sulfate. ... !5-15-15 at 10lb per plant will provide all the potassium the plant needs and extra 1/2 lb of N. This comes down to cost and availability. ...
These general balanced fertilizers can be formulated as a general use or Tomato/garden mix with extra calcium, magnesium, and other nutrients. The tomato mix will have much of the same nutrients needed by banana plants and a better choice over the general mix.

Go to Simplot and ask for "True 315" bring a bucket with a lid. Good stuff
If you don't have a Simplot, print the label and bring it to a agricultural Supply. Go to the source and skip all the middlemen

That would be an excellent fertilizer for banana plants. could you tell me
what stores it might be available at in the US please. I live in Canada and
it's not available here, so I was thinking the next time I go to the US I'll
get some.
I get mine at Menards, Schultz® Fast Acting Water Soluble All Purpose Plant Food - 5 lbs 20-20-20. They have 1.5 lb also but 5 lbs is a better deal. Search for 20-20-20, their are other places that probably have it also.
