Hi there my name is dean and live in south east London in the uk.

I am really into my bananas this year with around 11 different variants.

I have as follows,

Basjoo's
St helen
Maurelli's
Montbeliardii's
Thai black
Sikkimensis
Ventricosum
Glaucoma
Griersonni's
Cheesemani's
Lasiocarpa

Some I have had for a few years and getting a fair size now. Also got a few problems with I think overwatering. Oops.

If I over water and they start too get brown spotty leaves if I lay off the watering will it come back or will I have to dig out and dry the roots out.

Kind regards

Dean

Welcome! :) I'm not too experienced with other species of bananas other than velutina and edible hybrids, but, from those that I know - The only way one can over-water a banana is via waterlogged, poorly drained soil or over-watering them when temperatures are too low. Otherwise, bananas looove water.

Thank you for all your welcomes.

With the overwatering we have had a heat wave over here and the bananas have been out the front where the sun is present from around 11 in the morning til 7 at night. So I upped my watering to everyday instead of every other day. I backed off when got cooler but by the sounds of it not enough.
