Hi everyone I would like to know if planting a banana next to a boundry fence is there any way to control on what side the bunch will hang short of planting on a angle away from the boundry fence?
So that not to have bananas growing over the neighbours fence.:waving:

I have same issue. Tie a ratcheting tie down to the top when the flower emerges. I use rope to extend to an older palm tree.
If the pstem is leaning over the fence from the start tie it up early to start training it towards your side. Increase tension periodically and it will eventually lean in.
Gotta watch out for those bloody banana grabbers.
The deal we have with the neighbors is "whatever hangs over the fence is yours".
I not only reach over & coax branches to grow in my direction, I sometimes toss a vine or branch over or through the fence.
win - win!!! :bananas_b

Thats a good question! I agree with what everyone is staying. Try and tie a rope as the flower emerges to bring it onto your side of the fence. I also have a banana plant near the border of a fence so I hope that doesnt happen to mine when it blooms (if it blooms!)

In this video I think the guy says something about turning the pup a certain way to get the flower right. Interesting anyway.
