Hi I am new to the forum.

I live in a town-home (read as having no real outdoor planting space) in Central Ohio.

We presently have two potted banana plants which we have recently moved outside for the summer. I have been tending to one plant since the fall of 2009 and the second one since last spring.

I signed up to this forum to learn how to better care for the plants and hopefully get to see them flower and possibly fruit. Big goals for container plants I know. :ha:

Actually, there are lots of people who successfully grow banana plants in containers, and even get them to flower!

Love to see shots of your plants. I adore banana plants in containers, and have many
myself. ;)

Hope you enjoy the site. No doubt, you'll find lots of great information here.

Just put them back outside. Still have the winter ugliness. Leaf has been out for while on larger plant. Folded over on itself while still inside the house. It is still green so I have left it.

As always I am open to any suggestions or comments anyone has on my plants.

Welcome! I also want my bananas to flower! Maybe some day, but I have a good feeling about this summer for me. I have all by bananas in the ground now (major accomplishment since this is the first time I put any bananas in the ground), but mine also are still ugly from winter (Most of them put out one leaf since they were outside, some didnt even do that yet!). Its really not until july that my banana plants look really nice and lush.
Your bananas look very good! Of course they arent too lush since its early in the year, but all it takes is a few warm weeks to change that!
Good luck!
