despite being one of my favorite plants the laptop is ugly...tho it's amazing what you can do with bamboo. http://www.countryseat.com/BambooBicycle.jpg

you really think its ugly... wow I actually love the organic feel the technology has now with that wood grain. I have built a few systems myself and have actually been trying to get a buddy of mine to make me a custom wood case for one of my computers...

There are some really creative people out there that have put together some nice cases. I have seen a few by some Russian master carpenters that are beautiful!

I find it encouraging that asus is doing something like that, They are one of my favorite companies as far as mother boards go. Its also nice to see they did not put a crazy price tag on it as well!

yah I saw that video a while ago...

I like the lighter bamboo laptop better:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=z9yb72m2JL6mb7t7)

I want to make a wood case the next time a build a computer but the cost of the motherboard tray and everything else ends up costing more than buying a case!

you can just scavenge the parts from an older case...I think I have like 5 or 6 of them. They are easy to pick up really cheap.

I wonder if you have to oil your laptop to keep it from cracking like you do a cutting board. I have to say, anything made out of bamboo or carbon fiber is cool in my book.
