Here in the uk we are advised to give it acidic compost and a acid feed to help bring out the white variagation also to keep it out of full sun to aviod scorch a bit like canna Stuttgart.[/quote]
I've used quite a bit of plain ol grass fertilizer so that probably accounts for more green than white in the leaves. It is planted with a mix of good organic topsoil and pine bark. I presume the soil leans more to the acidic side because of the pine bark. If I noticed the variegation disappearing i'd probably amend the soil with sulfur.
