Default Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?

OK this is the year I've decided to take some of the potted Bananas and try them in the ground. So iv been digging holes all week yes thats right all week .LOL are soil is made up of many layers of interlocking coble stones so digging is a chore. I've tried to make the holes big 40" across and 2.5ft deep. I'm sure they will have lots of trouble growing roots beyond the confines of the holes I've dug but i think thats big enough for them. I'm puting two Ice creams and one dwarf Brazilian in the ground. I'm hoping they grow better. The Ensete Ventricosum i grew from seed last year are going in to a bed on the east side of my house. I'm thinking they will do the best here sins they like sandy soil and fairly low levels humidity.
