OK Taylor - here is one I have always wanted to ask but have been too embarrassed to do so - please feel free to keep me anonymous if you like!!

Roadside vendors have the whole bunch of fruit perfectly ripe at the same time - all looking perfect. Whether I wait until the first finger colours or cut them while still green but plump, they are never as perfect with some being too ripe before the last ones are ready to eat. What is the secret???? Obviously it is not a problem as we eat them as they ripen, but those perfect bunches torment me - how do they do it?
