It's not Castor Bean. It's not Watermelon.

I agree with Cathy, with a dad who grows vegetables, and sometimes I do too, it is either a squash (or the like... zucchini etc), a gourd, or a pumpkin. It could also be a Loofa and the like, but I would assume it would be something rather common.

Fernie, you will find that as that plant gets larger, the leaves get more splits in them, almost like a spiny passiflora.

I have Loofa seeds and Castor Bean seeds for trade/sale/SASE if anyone is interesting. A few hundred of each.
