The problem with trying to find info on bananas from the South Pacific is how much variety is there. That area is one of, if not THE cradle, from which banana diversity sprung forth. There's simply not enough resources available for scientists to document all of them.

If you wanna look at more pretty pics of bananas, I'd recommend going to musalit.org and searching for the keyword "catalog"
