FYI, in seedlings, variegation is generally maternally derived by chloroplast transfer and is not a genetically inheritable trait. Anyone with experience breeding variegated bananas should easily recognized the maternal connection with the variegation. With that being said, it's very common for non variegated seedlings, produced by a variegated mother plant, to later produce variegated offshoots.
