Default Bananas starting to flower in Phoenix!

Wanted to share this in case anyone around Phoenix AZ is looking to start getting into it. They grow here, they survive the winter here, they do well in summer here.

These guys are on the south side of the house and get full sun pretty much 24x7. I do give them plenty of water, plenty of fertilizer, and dump on some yard trimming/mulch when I can to help keep the roots cool. The soil is heavily amended, but if you live in phoenix you know thats required to grow pretty much anything anyway.

This was planted last april 2021 from a small start from Florida Hill Nursery, about 8" tall.

Dwarf Brazillian (or so it was sold-as, time will tell), just popped open.

And the whole plant, which is only about 6'6" to the top of the Pstem split. leaves reach upwards of 10' total. The one to the right is allegedly blue java and there are a pair of dwarf namwah behind it.
