Default Re: Liquid VS Slow Release Fertilizers

In regards to plant nutrition don't forget grass clippings! i consider them slow release!

I bag my St. Augustine grass clippings and apply as mulch to my patch continously over the summer. This suppresses the weeds and reduces moisture loss to the patch. According to some sources grass clippings have an N-P-K of 4-1-2 plus all kinds of micro elements and over the course of a season (March to October) can return 2 lbs of N per 1,000 square feet of lawn.

I use chemical fertilizers too but grass clippings play an important role for outdoor plants.
