When small and immature a few varieties have the pattern and soon loose it as they mature gradually turning to a deep green.
Some patterns are stronger than others.

The pups that the plant produces will have the telltale pattern so you may enjoy it again.

There are ornamental varieties like Zebrina which keep the pattern.
Yeah, but the Dwarf Cavendish plant I have is only 2 months old.
