Default Dwarf Brazilian in full sun in east bay area CA

Hey all, I've seen that dwarf brazilian bananas don't do well when they are in full sun in dry climates: Musa Dwarf Brazilian - Bananas Wiki. Since I'm in the CA east bay, I worry about this a bit! However, I haven't seen anyone else talking about this. What happens if you plant a dwarf brazilian in full sun? Will it still do OK?
