Wrapped the pstem in burlap and strung C9 Christmas lights from top of the pstem down to the bottom and then covered the entire plant with 1.5 oz frost cloth. Long story short the plant made it through the freeze judging by the green leaves buttttttt......the top two feet of the pstem snapped off due to either the weight of the frost cloth, wind over the next two days or just general weakness in the plant.

Summary
I estimate the Patupi took nine months to produce a flag leaf at 7'8" of height. This plant is not as fast growing as commonly thought. In my zone vegetative growth needs to conclude within 7 months in order to get harvestable fruit.

When I saw the notification I was like that would sure suck if it's flowering now. Sorry about the timing, that simply can't be helped I guess. Congrats on the flag leaf however!
