This Spring I got the idea to grow banana plants at home so I ordered a couple from WellSpring Gardens in FL. When these things arrived they would fit inside your shoe. Now 5 months later they tower over us and they are still growing so fast. I did not realize how fast banana plants grow.
I fertilize them and keep the area around them covered with compost and leaves. they also get the benefit of my home air conditioner dumping all its condensate right by their bases.
