If you live in a humid area I don't think it's necessary. I live in South Texas where it's hot and humid here all the time and I haven't misted my small tissue culture plants and they are growing like crazy.

As far as sun, you need to gradually introduce it as they grow, usually when they are a couple of feet tall and start getting mature leaves.
