Okay, sorry for the long radio silence. Early last September I went in for a routine mammogram and came out with a diagnosis of invasive cancer. Tottering home in shock, I glanced up at my Gros Michels and saw Thing One had made me a flower to cheer me up. [IMG]

Doing banana math (since the previous three GM productions had taken 9 months apiece) I figured I would have bananas about the time I finished with all the necessary evils. It truly gave me something to look forward to.
Today, after too many surgeries, 6 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation (one more to go) the sudden 80+ degree weather started turning some of the nanas yellow so down they came. It was tricky because the GMs are sandwiched between my Dwarf Brazilian, my Becky's Mystery (yes, Mark, probably the same variety which is why they are side by side for comparison) and my Panache figs. As Richard instructed almost three years ago, my husband sawed halfway through the pseudostem and then we struggled to get the supports out. Of course, the whole thing came crashing down but did manage to (narrowly) miss the Dwarf Brazilian, only knocking off one leaf. And here are the bouncing baby bananas! [IMG]

Thank you bananas.org for making this all possible!
