Default Started flowering in winter

I have a Dwarf Brazilian I planted about 1.5 years ago and it started flowering last month.
Been told it will stop growing during our mild Californian winters just to take off and finish mid next year.
I’ve also read here once it flowers no more leaves will grow, two months ago our winds ripped through and shredded 60% of the leaves.
What’s the real chances they will finish to maturity next year if we don’t see any frost this winter?
