Years ago I was very active here and grew over 30 varieties of bananas. Getting a Gros Michel plant was akin to catching a leprechaun! I did manage to get a couple at great expense sent from Hawaii but didn't get fruit from them. So after almost a decade off from growing bananas to concentrate on my new farm business I decided to grow a few plants. A quick internet search revealed that this formerly non existent variety is now readily available and at reasonable prices! Needless to say I got a few and have been growing these for a couple months from 4" starter plants.

Back then I didn't believe I'd ever actually eat one unless I traveled abroad or got lucky enough to have some ripen here (I'm in zone 6 and it's a crapshoot) but I just discovered Miami Fruit and even though they were a bit pricey eating a Gros Michel was on my bucket list and Now I'm a couple days from actually eating one! I have some in a paper bag with some apples and theyre starting to turn after only two days,
