Usually most bananas we have grown flower within 2-3 years of planting. The Musa basjoo grows but doesn't seem to thrive in our long hot season. This plant also has only grown a couple of pups and is about 7ft tall. Maybe they don't like our soil which is very well drained and sandy. We have had a couple other plants of M. basjoo grow for a couple of years then die but this could have been to nematodes as they are very common in the sandy soil.
