I didn't kill it. It was a contract hit.
Had 5 big pine trees removed from around the yard, to get more sunlight for plants.
Here is a picture of the remains of the second largest. At ground level the trunk diameter was over 30" (stump was just about in line with the front of farthest trunk piece to the left, where the ground is all torn up), the over head branch span was about 50' diameter (basically reaching out over my Namwa mat, FHIA 17 mat, Non-Ice Cream mat, grapefruit tree, some palm trees and my fence (for perspective, from the where the trunk was to the fence is about 9-10').
Here is the Non-Ice Cream mat after I removed all the broken leaves after the pine was gone. It was about 7' away from the trunk. A few months ago I dug up and potted a pup from there, just in case the whole mat got busted. I will probably end up planting the potted one, and getting rid of that mat. The namwa mat is just at the left edge of the picture.

Very impressive to watch the 4 man crew take those trees down with just chainsaws and ropes (and a bobcat for moving the trunk pieces).
