TEXTURE-somewhat like a Cavendish, a bit mealy, but not unpleasant.
FIRMNESS-Firm, makes the banana good and chewy.
SWEETNESS-Very sweet, not as sweet as a sucrier.
TARTNESS-Some tartness, enough to notice, but not as strong as in a DB.
RIPENESS-Yellow with a bit of green on the pedicel and some brown on the peel. Fruit wasn’t as ripe as I thought it would be given the color of the skin.
FLAVOR-Sort of a bit of everything. A bit like a Cavendish, but more tangy and a hint of brown sugar.
OTHER-Skins are thick and banana is difficult to remove from the hand.
OVERALL RATING-8. I could eat these every day. I didn’t know what to expect with these, as some descriptions seem to suggest they are more ornamental but happen to also be edible. I’d say it’s worth growing for the fruit. Very pleasantly surprised!
SUGGESTED USE-eating out of hand. Good to travel with, as it has thick skins which keep the fruit from getting damaged easily.
