This place is a GREAT place for info and simple sharing of info. I, like yourself, am fairly new to the tropical world. I, UNLIKE yourself, do not have to climate you do for these babies, but hey, it makes it more of a challenge where I live. I know if I can have a tropical looking back yard, you will have no trouble. I live in SE TN and still get the feeling every summer that I am in my own little piece of paradise! Good luck with your upcoming project(s) and stay tuned.
