Default Namwa over wintering in NC?

I'm coastal zone 8b. What are the chances of Musa Namwa surviving a normal winter here? This thing is 6ft maybe taller and a good 12" plus thick p-stem. Its right up against my brick house and right next to the cement driveway/walkway. Those things would help retain some heat. I planned to mulch deep around it and wrap it really good. First time ever growing this sucker. Hate to loose it,has several pups. Ice Cream is suppose to survive here without a problem. Mine did in a pot from a local guy who claimed he has lots of them and they come right back each year. Wish I could find that guy as mine rotted in that pot from un proper drainage during the spring,so I could see if his looks like my Ice Cream from Richard.
