Default Soil Moisture

I have 8 25 gallon nursery pots and the bananas are growing great. I went to water the pots today because the top two inches were pretty dry but then before I watered I felt in one of the drain holes and the bottom was still wet from the last watering almost a week ago. Should I drill more drain holes in the bottom or sides or just let it dry out a little more before I water? These are your basic heavy duty 25 gallon Nursery pots with 6 1.5" drain holes around the bottom edge.

Thanks in advance,

Chris
