One of my favorite fruits to come out of
Howard Frost's breeding program is the Gold Nugget Mandarin. It is genetically seedless and does not produce seeds in the presence of other pollens as some "seedless" varieties do. The fruit is outstanding quality. It typically begins ripening in April-May in southern California. At the moment I'm picking about a gallon of fruits per day which will continue for a couple of weeks.
