Re: East Coast Earthquake.
At the time, I was standing at the bathroom sink. I heard a thumping sound outside, like someone pounding a fence post into the ground with a sledge hammer. (I don't know if it had anything to do with the quake, or not.) When I looked, I saw the water in the toilet swishing back and forth. When I checked outside, I couldn't find anyone in my, or the neighbor's yard. When I came back in, I saw the coverage on the TV.
This was my second encounter. Once, some years ago, I was in a hotel, in Hawaii, and I was awakened by some movement of the bed. I said, "What's going on? Oh, it must be an earthquake", and promptly went back to sleep. The next morning I saw, in the newspaper, that we had had an earthquake!
