Default Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?

Okay, the flower of the Winter Jasmine in the first photo is not the showiest thing on earth,...

...but you have to appreciate, that I cut some twigs off in early November last year and had them
blooming later that month in the house, used them for Christmas table decorations, they opened
up outside in late January/early February and now, on the first of May there are still some blooming.

The second shot shows a section of the front yard of our home. You can probably tell, that I am pretty
sold on ground covers for weed control.

That is actually very effective, I have used it for about ½ dozen years now and the only things, capable
to penetrate through them, are bulb plants such as crocus, daffodils, tulips etc.

Some more details of the ground covers. There is still some winter damage, although fading

This picture shows my only flowering shrub in bloom at this time, an early rhododendron as glimpsed
through some Japanese Maple twigs
