So far, 4 petals have opened with nothing under them. Is this normal? But...
under the 5th petal, there are 6 NANAS already 2 inches long!! Yup, I cheated & peeked under the petal which is lifting. Then, I picked up the 6th petal & peeked to count 5 or 6 more. The next petal has lumps in it but I won't peek LOL. 3 hands so far!!!
I tell ya, it's so nice to see this in person! Not too long ago, I wondered what a "hand" was or, how you can tell to count them.
I'm so happy & LUCKY that I got them now while we are having lots of heat & humidity, & time to mostly mature outside before I bring it in for frost in Oct.
