So far, 4 petals have opened with nothing under them. Is this normal? But...

under the 5th petal, there are 6 NANAS already 2 inches long!! Yup, I cheated & peeked under the petal which is lifting. Then, I picked up the 6th petal & peeked to count 5 or 6 more. The next petal has lumps in it but I won't peek LOL. 3 hands so far!!!
I tell ya, it's so nice to see this in person! Not too long ago, I wondered what a "hand" was or, how you can tell to count them.
I'm so happy & LUCKY that I got them now while we are having lots of heat & humidity, & time to mostly mature outside before I bring it in for frost in Oct.

Dang...I posted 1 1/2 hrs ago, clicked "post reply" & got zapped off!
I have 2 pics in photobucket that I tried to post yest., but you can't see nanas... I'll take some "sneek peek" pics tomorrow & hope the petal opens more & post them. BTW, there are 7 nanas on first hand...5-6 on 2nd hand, & with the bulges so far, 2 more hands coming that I can see!
W/ the storms & lightning right now, hoping that petal will open tomorrow

I tried again just now to take pics but I gotta wait for petal to open more... too dark where nanas are... can't see em. I took a pic of flower & support yesterday & I put that in my gallery instead of photobucket, so go there to see it. I don't know how right off, to post from there.
I guess most ppl make supports out of pvc but I used 2 1X1's & cut the bottoms to points. I found an old duffle bag shoulder strap & attached each end to the top of 1x1's. They are adjustable to make longer or shorter. Push the bottoms into sides of pot or pound in ground on either side of plant. The strap has clips on both ends so you can just clip them to eyes or screws into top of sticks. Mine had a clip missing so I nailed & stapled it on top of stick. This is working excellent & it was easy!!

It's in a large pot so when frost comes (Oct?), I can cart it inside the sunroom.
I took few pics again today but you can't see the nanas

I sneek peeked again... there are total of 31 nanas on 4 hands so far!! I'll post pics soon. Oh, I am loving this.
