Keep in mind not all cooking bananas are plantains. Plantains are a very specific genetic group of cooking bananas. It may not be a plantain banana.

They will not be able to grow leaves until they have well developed roots, so this is not an issue. Those plants looks fine and are perfect for direct planting without any issues.
