If you are referring to my 'Beautyberry' shrub, although I tend to think you are talking about that unbelievably striking passiflora flower - I can send you a cutting for the shrub in Spring, Blake, and you could root it!

Yes, they are all so lovely, aren't they? I just love this thread. The pictures are very cheering.
Oh yes, Blake, I would enjoy sending you a cutting, because they root easily, and then you'll have your own perennial shrub that will return for you every year! Don't be afraid to remind me come Spring, ok? I will send you two or three cuttings, so you'll have a good chance of success. I still have your address... : ) |

I didn't know I could root brugmansia in water. I am going to try that. My MIL is going to put some in potting mix. We will see which one will root first. Thanks for the tip.

A couple of my roses are blooming again.
I thought this was Peace, but now I don't think it is: This one is Joseph's Coat: This blooms almost continuously - lots of common names - official googled name is Purple Heart Wandering Jew ~ Tradescantia Pallida Purpurea

Thanks Eric!
Grew these "red currant" cherry tomatoes in a hanging basket, so I could bring them inside late in the season, and allow the fruits to ripen - which they are... ![]() : ) |

Verry pretty HBL! this reminds me... A friend asked me a few days ago "can I grow tomatoes over the winter?". I said you need extra light, etc.
But can you grow a tomato plant that makes alot of produce over the winter without aney extra light? I might grow some over the winter to see what they do. ![]()

Yes, one variety that performs exceptionally well over Winter, without supplemental lighting is, "Patio" tomato.
I've grown it many Winters in my south facing window, and it even produced a fair size crop of delicious red beauties, comparable to Summer. : ) Last edited by The Hollyberry Lady : 10-19-2009 at 10:44 AM. Reason: spelling |
