I brought my citrus in today. I could have waited another few weeks, but I was already moving bananas and decided to move the citrus too.

1. Place plants in front of a south-facing window. If you don't have a south window, use the sunniest window you have or grow lights.
2. Cut back on watering. I use a moisture meter to measure the moisture throughout the soil. I only water when the meter reads "dry." Be very careful not to over water. Too much water causes root rot and the plants' leaves will turn yellow and fall off. 3. Watch out for mites, scale, and other insects. Close quarters can cause pestilence outbreak. If I detect the slightest infestation, I spray all citrus with a Neem oil/dish detergent/water solution. 4. Pollinate any flowers by hand. My plants generally flower shortly after I bring them inside. To get fruit, I have to pollinate. Be aware that only 3%-10% of the flowers will set fruit. My small Meyer lemon plant had 110 blooms, but I only got 5 lemons to form. 5. Cut back on fertilizing. The plants generally grow at a slower rate indoors and are receiving less water. Excessive fertilization with no water to leach the soil can burn the roots and cause the leaves to develop black spots and drop off.
