I just checked with a friend of hers and it is our Patty and it is true. I am posting this with a heavy heart.

Patty was very supportive of me while my husband was overseas and always sent me uplifting and funny email to cheer me up.

I know I am not alone when I say we will miss her.

RIP Patty :giveflowersnana:

I had no idea and we are friends on Facebook too.

What a great friend she was to me over the years.

Rest in peace Patty, I'll miss you a bunch.

Just saw this on Facebook. Very sad, indeed. Does anyone know if she'd been sick or was this sudden? My prayers are with her family.

This is a true shocker. Seems like it's always the exceptional folks here who we lose. May her memory be a blessing.

This came as quite a shock when I heard it this morning. I'm still feeling that way. Here's me , Patty and Mike from almost exactly a year ago when they stopped by on their way home from Vermont.

We'll miss you very much Patty .

OMG I am so sad, I was going to shoot her an email today because I had not heard from her in a bit, she was a good friend and even though we never met, she was the best. I am shocked. She helpedme with lots of growing and encouraged me along the way, with both the bananas and citrus.

Wow, this is a sad surprise. She was a friend and a source of motivation, crazier than even me in growing things such as bananas and pitaya in the cold climate of Wisconsin. She was very generous and a fun person to read e-mails and posts from and will be missed. I pray that she is some place even nicer!

My home made wines would knock you all on your butts hee hee.

This is how I will remember Patty and tonight I will drink a toast to her.

How ironic last night I was reading in the past and came upon this post by Patty from 2009. She went on to say some of her wines are 18% alcohol. After reading this I ventured over to the citrus forum and found the post saying she was no longer with us. With extreme sadness and aching heart I returned here to post hoping that it was not our Patty.

I would have dearly loved to have had the opportunity to meet her in person to taste her wines and see her tropical plants growing were they had no reason to exist. Impossible was not in her vocabulary when it came to Zone Bending. Her tales of rogue animals attacking her garden always brought a smile to my face. It seems so unfair that she will no longer brighten my day.

My prayers are with the family and her friends.

Goodbye Patty. Never forgotten! Dearly missed!

This is from Patty's mom.

Memorial for Patty was held Sunday at the home of her fiance, Mike. It was a beautiful celebration of her life. Her garden was more beautiful and lush this year than it has ever been, and the apple tree that she has three varieties grafted, is full of fruit. She will live on in her garden...I have many of her plants that she shared with me. I was fortunate enough to have a trip with her a few years ago to a Citrus Conference in Virginia Beach. Thank you to all who shared her love of nature, and who loved her gentle spirit. Her banana 'pup' will be cared for by Mike, I am sure, and it will probably surpass the last one. Keep her in your hearts and memories. She is not gone....just in another place.
