It is very cold and wet May, as you probably heard we have flood...
Oder was 8 m deep and Vistula more than 7m. It has been the biggest level of water since 1850. Fortunately I live far away from the bigger rivers |

Authorities, meteorologists failed in every aspect. I know many people who even precisely predicted the amount of water that we got in May. Calculating it from the amount of volcanic ash... but who ever listens to mathematicians. Shame on the authorities. Second that.

17 was maximum here today. I went out without jacket (it wasn't windy at our place, so I presumed it wouldn't be anywhere else either), big mistake. Really, this weather is starting to be ridiculous.

Hissing down with rain at the moment - raining at the rate of 1 inch an hour and the road is a river and the swimming pool has overflowed - guess the hurricane season has arrived!!! The dogs are cowering indoors because of the thunder and lightning. Temperature at 8pm is 84f/29c with 88% humidity and I have brought the lavender and geraniums in out of the wet! The orchids are saying
however!(Sorry Jack - wrong forum!) Last edited by island cassie : 05-31-2010 at 07:13 PM. Reason: oops |

Re: Weather forecast
You know, people, I'm not sure whether to laugh or just cry. We haven't been above 25°C/77°F since April. Average temperatures are 3/4 of what I wrote earlier and we haven't seen the sun for 5 days now. It has been the wettest and most humid half year in 160 years (or maybe more, but those are the last recorded precipitation values).
In May, it literally rained all day long almost every second day, with chilling temps (temps, at which naners grow in severely reduced mode) not allowing bees to come out! May has also brought something that, until now, only Brazilians from Amazonia knew. Freaking 59cm (24 inches). Crazy weather, crazy climate. If I don't see a proper summer here, I'm honestly moving away, after I've finished my uni. Some highlits of what we've been seeing in the news lately: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Didn't know where to post this, but:
FINALLY!!!! Death to modern day communism, or so called 'social democracy' and finally, for the next 4 years (hopefully), we are not going to be building a nonsense, so called "social market economy". Slovakia has officially joined the most developed European countries by denying the socialists to get to power. Hopefully this economic crisis will mean elimination of the last remnants of communist rule over (developed) Europe. Now to defeat the NWO and we truly will join the 21st century! Nationalist fury as center right makes gains in Slovakia - CNN.com BBC News - Slovakia's centre-right opposition 'wins' election WARM and PLEASANT SUMMER, here we go!!! Quote:

How's your referendum. Heard you are having a decisive moment and that Belgium might split soon.

Guys, we're sweating like hell here in Greece.
Today's high was 36°C/97°F, even the low was 24°C/75°F and the mean humidity 54%. Thank god, that the humididty is not higher at moment, but it's not to low for the bananas. And they're growing like crazy, at warp speed! |
