Unhappy New cigar leaf thorn off.. any issue ?

hi All,

Something fell from my hands (grrrrr) on my baby Ornata Red, but 'fortunately' it only removed about 90% of the new cigar leaf.. as it was a pup, will it survive by with new growth? it still has a couple of good leaves, pseudostem did not get injured/impacted, it went right over the new leaf. It was just taking off actually!

thanks for your comment & reassurance !

Good luck, some bananas are very hardy and hopefully it will continue on.

Yeah you should be ok as long as the growing tip isn't damaged. Even then they can recver pretty easily. Just give it a few days and see if there is any movement.

I shouldn't skip a beat, there is no reason damage like that would cause the plant any serious harm.

quite amazed, just next morning there was already new growth of about 2.5cm/1inch.. it is quite resilient indeed.
